How licensing works
When you purchase an item from Honed Assets, you're actually purchasing a license to use that item. Our licenses are designed to be fair, clear and easy to understand, and each one is written for the kind of item it covers.

Standard Licenses
The majority of items on Honed Assets (all themes, templates, code, graphics, UI kits and 3D) are covered by our Standard Licenses. There's a Regular License for end products that are free to end users, and an Extended License for end products that end users are charged for.

Note to freelancers and creative agencies
Our Standard Licenses allow creative professionals to charge their clients for the services they provide in creating an end product using an item, and this does not require an Extended License. What you can't do is use one license for multiple clients or projects – you need a separate license for each end product.

Whether you need sound effects for an animated video or the next major video game title, our two SFX Licenses have you covered. The SFX (Single Use) License covers one end product for one client, and the SFX (Multi-Use) License covers unlimited end products for unlimited clients.

Our stock footage and motion graphics items are covered by two Video Licenses. The Video (Single Use) License covers one end product for one client, and the Video (Multi-Use) License covers unlimited end products for unlimited clients.

Photo Licenses
From a band poster to a global print campaign, our two Photo Licenses have you covered. The Photo Regular License allows up to 500,000 copies across all of your end products, and the Photo Extended License allows unlimited copies plus merchandising use.

Specialty Licenses
Course License
The Course License is a non-exclusive license to make use of the course you have selected. It covers a single user for personal, educational use. You can't share your access, and you can't resell or redistribute the course material.

Tools License
The Tools License covers installable items such as add-ons, plug-ins, actions, brushes and fonts. You can use a tool to create as many end products as you like, but the tool itself can't be included in or redistributed with those end products.

Logo License
The Logo License is a non-exclusive license to develop a logo using the item you have selected. It covers the use of the item in one unique logo design (the end product), for one client or business.

Designs intended for apparel are covered by two T-Shirt Licenses: a Regular License with a 10,000-unit print run, and an Extended License with no limit.
